A filly with a broodmare as her background, I really like how this one came out.

Camera: Canon 30D, 300mm Prime, UV Filter
PS: Color Balance, Crop, Healing brush, Unsharp 300/100

Edit 7-25-07: Added a "?" at the end of the title as I originally intended to do, puts a new message on the whole thing I guess

Pyro burnin' mah biscuits! :flame:
Lovely. One thing that bothers me though, mother horse's neck is like.. cut? There is this green thing just at her neck.
Lovely. I really like the crispy-ness of the filly verses the blurry-ness of her mare. Wonderful shot.

"Who's money Mr. Big Baby? My Money Mutha Fackos!"
That green "thing" at her neck is actually a color coded tag with a number on it. Because these function much like the ear tag on a cow, horse breeders will place these on their broodmares to help them with identification. This is particularly useful on larger farms where some horses may look very similar and/or when there are several people taking care of the horses. It just keeps everyone from getting super confused.

The focus here is fantastic, as is the filly's expression as she looks back toward the broodmare behind her. Part of me hopes that she does something more than birth babies her entire life, but I certainly do appreciate all the mares that are responsible for bringing new lives into the world. Ah... the breeder's dichotomy!

Mmmmm the filly is so cute :D and I love the focus.
Funny I got two photos of fillies in my watchlist this morning. One was by lightfromthewest and featured almost disturbingly long legs (I think she was an arabian.) [link]
What breed is this one?
